Welcome to the web site of Iain MacGillivray, commonly known as mgill.

Iain MacGillivray - "mgill" This is the website of Iain MacGillivray - the one born in Inverness in 1947, who has been singing and playing his brand of traditional and contemporary folk music since he first picked up a guitar at the age of sixteen in 1964.

Since ill-health struck in 2001, mgill's touring abilities have been severely curtailed, but he keeps up his life-long interest in the music by joining Bruce MacGregor at his fortnightly Sunday sessions at Bogbain Adventure and Heritage Farm, and presenting an annual concert with his playing partner of thirty-five years, Ranald Smith.

As performances increased somewhat, a website to present information seemed like a good idea.

Make a note in your diaries now for the Ninth Annual Midsummer Gig with Ranald Smith. Read all about it!
